Coffee Meets Bagel Raises $12M For International Expansion And Live Events
TECH CRUNCH - May 31 - The round, led by U.K. VC firm Atami Capital, brings the app's total up to ~$20M since launching back in 2012. Coffee Meets Bagel limits the number of matches it offers during a 24-hour window. Late last year, it expanded its offering with a video profile feature. This month, it introduced additional CMB Experiences to bring users together in the real world.
Momo Q1 Results: Revenue Up 64%
PR NEWSWIRE - May 29 - Momo's Q1 net revenue increased 64% YOY to $435M. The total live video service revenues were $371.5M, an increase of 74.8%. Net income increased to $130M. Monthly Active Users were 103M in Q1 2018, compared to 85M in Q1 2017. Total paying users of our live video service and value-added service were 8.1M in Q1 2018, compared to 7M in Q1 2017.

Hinge Is Ditching The Facebook Login
TECH CRUNCH - June 2 - The change will go into effect today (June 5th) Monday on Android, followed by a June 12th release on iOS. While the option to use Facebook won't be fully removed, users will instead be able to choose to authenticate using their phone number. Hinge isn't the first dating app to go this route. Bumble also recently said it was removing the Facebook requirement, in response to user feedback. Hinge doesn't believe the move away from Facebook will have an ill effect.
Lovoo Launches Live Video In France And Switzerland

After Australia, Bumble To Focus On Growth In New Zealand
NZ HERALD - June 2 - Most Kiwis won't be familiar with the name Whitney Wolfe Herd, but matchmaking app Bumble should ring a few bells. Bumble has been available in new Zealand for three years, with ~1.73 million conversations started. The bulk of users are between 23 and 27 years old and there's a 50/50 gender split. "After a hugely successful 12 months in Australia, we are now focused on growing the already engaged New Zealand market," Herd said. "Bumble is the perfect fit for New Zealand, a country that has always been a world leader when putting women first." The app is available in 144 countries and has ~33M registered users. It has ~80 staff working across six offices and is widely acknowledged as one of the fastest growing dating apps globally.

Grindr And Other Dating Apps Are Discussing Ways To Add STD Notifications
MASHABLE - May 31 - Grindr and other gay dating apps are exploring ways to add the ability for people who test positive for an STD to notify partners using the app. Jack Harrison-Quintana, director of Grindr for Equality said, "Grindr works very closely with Building Healthy Online Communities on several initiatives including STD related notifications." Grindr recently launched several features around HIV testing reminders and HIV status sharing. The app Adam4Adam already includes a link on its Health Resources page to "STD notification services for partners and tricks," which directs to InSpot.org. Daddyhunt plans to release a new version of its app this summer that will include an option to log the date of a user's last STD test, and receive testing reminders every three months. Daddyhunt's General Manager, Casey Crawford, said that it is also in preliminary discussions about including partner STD notification resources as part of an upcoming user interface redesign.
Muslim Dating App Muzmatch Goes International With 12 Additional Languages
BDAILY NEWS - May 29 - Muzmatch, the London-based company has confirmed plans to expand internationally and add 12 languages. Set up in 2015 by former investment banker Shahzad Younas and tech entrepreneur Ryan Brodie, Muzmatch is already used by over 500K English speakers in 190 countries. Muzmatch raised a $1.75M seed investment in January and has backing from Silicon Valley-based Y Combinator and Hambro Perks. Muzmatch will launch the new app internationally in time for the Muslim festival of Eid al Fitr on June 14.
