I plan to attend the Shanghai conference with one other employee from our company, Online Buddies, Inc. We operate the websites
www.manhunt.net and
www.manhunt.jp, which are dating websites for gay men in the U. S. and internationally. Our Japanese website has been very slow to catch on (compared with elsewhere), as Japan is very culturally conservative in dealing with gay men. For instance, the Tokyo gay pride parade might have 5,000 participants while the parade in Sao Paolo, Brazil will have 2 million. From what I hear, China's attitude toward gay men is closer to Japan's than to Brazil's, but we're attending the conference to learn more about China and its opportunities for us, and we're prepared to take a long term view.
