TIPRANKS - Apr 1 - Match Group has issued a statement warning that Q1 results are likely to fall around the low end of the previously estimated range due to the impact of Covid-19. "While we have seen increases in engagement trends among younger users, we are seeing fewer new users joining our products. This impact is most pronounced among users over the age of 30 and varies by region, depending on the level of COVID-19 containment".

The feature allows members to search by city or drop a pin anywhere on the map for free from now until April 30. Tinder's daily conversations have been up ~20% around the world - and the average length of the conversations is 25% longer.
Consumers Spent $23.4B on Apps in Q1 2020
TECH CRUNCH - Apr 3 - According to new data from App Annie, Q1 2020 was the largest-ever quarter in terms of consumer spend on apps. In addition, the average weekly time spent in apps and games worldwide was up 20% YOY in the quarter. In Q1 2020, consumers worldwide spent $23.4B through the app stores - the largest-ever quarter. iOS accounted for $15B of that figure and Google Play was $8.3B. There were also 31B new app downloads in Q1 2020, up 15% from Q4 2019.

Grindr Is the Dating App That Drains the Most Battery From a Mobile
GAY TIMES - Mar 30 - Uswitch has analysed the 50 most popular apps on major app stores and looked at how many battery-draining permissions an app used, and when it came to dating apps Grindr came out on top. Grindr had 28 battery-draining permissions, it was followed by Bumble which has 20, Tinder which has 18 and Hinge which has 13. Google has 72 battery-draining permissions, Facebook 50 and Facebook Messenger 46.
