LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 766, as introduced, Chavez. Internet-based dating services. Existing law provides for the regulation of various businesses. This bill would require an Internet-based dating service to, at the request of a subscriber located in California, remove the subscriber and his or her personal information from public display. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Chapter 33 (commencing with Section 22948) is added to Division 8 of the Business and Professions Code , to read: CHAPTER 33. INTERNET-BASED DATING SERVICES 22948. At the request of a subscriber located in California, an Internet-based dating service shall immediately remove the subscriber and all of his or her personal information from public display. |
