Yeh Jackie, you were right. Your site is truely unique... in dedication part. Otherwise, it's like hundreds others. Who cares about rating? GreatBoy/GirlFriend was trying to employ similar model of feedback. And? They are already down and out, though they were 1000 times more advanced technologically and marketing wise.
I can bet you won't be around by Aug.2006. Too bad good people make simple mistakes!
Nonetheless, your dedication is touching as well as new to the area.

Alex

Marc,

Why don't you start a new business stream within the dating industry? You could except bets on the time particular dating sites will go out of business. Don't forget me, babe, when u get rich :-)

Hello Alex,

Thanks for your resounding words of disencouragement. I have no idea who or what GreatBoy/GirlFriend is all about or the circumstances surrounding their demise. The idea that they were 1000 times more technically advanced and marketing wise than we are is a very poor judgment call on your part not to mention your generous use of hyperbole to the extreme. Your quip about “. . .like hundreds of others” is a case in point. Our research department has been diligently sorting out and reviewing any sites that are similar to ours for a couple reasons. The first is to be aware of who is in our industry and the second is to put them on our list of companies to send a “cease and desist” letter regarding their infringement of our intellectual property or else to pay a licensing fee.

So, if you would be so kind to provide us with where you found these “hundreds others” we would be delighted to know them because that would enable us to put some of our competition out of business or at a minimum to fatten our coffers with additional licensing revenue. You see we own the patent for that particular business model and we also own the copyrights for our names and we have some very high-powered IP attorneys who are backing us to make it stick. Yes, I know that attorneys will lie about anything to make money through litigation but we have independent corroboration that our IP legal positions are sustainable.

There are many factors that make or break an enterprise and without specific knowledge of the facts and circumstances of each it’s not accurate portrayal of why things did or did not happen. Maybe they were too early to market? Maybe they were under capitalized. Maybe they were mismanaged. Maybe, maybe maybe! Who the heck knows why over a million businesses fail each year in the USA. It is a commonly known fact that under capitalization is the main reason followed by a distant second of mismanagement. We are neither.

Timing is everything in everything. We are in the market at the right time because there are soooo many people out there on dating sites that are married and just looking to get a quick lay or to prey upon the adolescents that are attracted to such sites that some form of integrity check is desperately needed especially by women and those that become away of their youngsters habiting such sites or perhaps the youngsters themselves being cautious.

The bottom line is that they were not astute enough to apply for copyright protection for their product or for the patent for their business model. Who knows why.

The demographics of our target market have neither the time nor the inclination to be wasting resources with turkeys. So, our research and surveys has shown that our target market is anxious to increase their odds by having a mechanism to weed out all the turkeys and disingenuous members.

The idea that we will be out of business in 2006 is just wishful thinking on your part either because you didn’t think of our idea first or that you want to frighten us away from our venture for reasons known only to you. We will succeed where the others have failed because we are doing correctly what others have failed to do.

Regards, Jackie

Yet another dating site trying to use extortion as a business model. :D

Some guy got a patent for swinging someone on a swing, another company got a patent for using more then 1 computer to serve webpages. That company is now sueing eharmony and others, just like your patent it is completely bogus and will never stand up in court. Your site has NOTHING that hasn't been done many times over in the past 10 years and there are heaps of examples of prior art.

Jackie,

That's too bad u haven't heard about the site that really made a lot of very good publicity. Actually it's a couple of them branded together. Thay are greatboyfriends.com and greatgirlfriends.com.
Go ahead, sue them if u wish. I doubt u get anything out of this exercise, 'cause it takes tons of time and $$$ and u r not very keen to burn cash even on your own promotion. U r not going very far without traffic that u don't have at the moment.
