Match.com Launches Delightful Following HowAboutWe Into Date Planning

BUZZFEED - Jan 23 - Match.com parent company IAC has launched Delightful as a service to plan dates for couples. The service is currently only available in San Francisco at a cost of $12 per month. HowAboutWe launched its date planning service HowAboutWe for Couples a year ago and has just added Los Angeles as its fifth city. The service costs $18 per month and in the New York market about 12% of its users previously used the dating part of the website. Date planning services are a way to hang onto customers as well as attract new ones.

Tastebuds Launches Gig Roulette Feature

PR WEB - Jan 23 - Tastebuds, a music focused social network, has launched Gig Roulette. The feature allows users to import their Facebook photos and music likes and play a game to find a concert buddy. The game displays a concert and a potential match, allowing users to hit or pass. Mutual matches are notified through private message. Tastebuds has users in over 100 countries with 200,000 messages sent every day.

Match.com France Confirms Squeeze-out And Delisting Of Meetic Shares

BUSINESS WIRE - Jan 24 - Match.com France Limited has confirmed its intention to implement a mandatory squeeze-out and pursuant delisting of Meetic shares from the Euronext exchange. The procedure follows suit with the simplified takeover bid initiated by Match.com France and will be completed on January 31, 2014. It will involve 179k Meetic shares at EUR 18.75 per share.

JWEEKLY - Jan 24 - Launched in 2003, Jewish dating website SawYouAtSinai.com combines old-school shidduch (matchmaking) strategies with modern Internet dating. The service relies on a team of volunteer matchmakers to scour the user databases and suggest matches. Volunteers must be married and willing to devote six hours per week. The site has more than 30,000 users, with nearly 1,000 matches resulting in marriage in the past decade.

Gleeden Sees Impressive Growth In French Market

LE MONDE - Jan 24 – Gleeden, an infidelity site created by and for women, has reached 800,000 users in France, with 1.8 million members across all regions. In comparison, Ashley Madison boasts 22 million global members, though their French membership is only 400,000. A survey commissioned by Gleeden in 2010 revealed that 37% of the 500 people interviewed “had cheated or may have cheated.”

SparkNetworks' Study: Cheating Is Not A Deal Breaker

MARKETWIRED - Jan 21 - jDate and ChristianMingle.com have released their second annual State Of Dating In America Report. The definition of cheating is not black and white, the study found. In 2014, the number of women who believe a flirtatious message is cheating dropped to 68%, while men observed a slight decrease to 51%. A quarter of singles would marry someone who was unfaithful to them while dating. The stigma of online dating is a thing of the past. 85% of singles say online dating is socially acceptable. 94% believe online dating expands their dating pool.
