I am the owner of a dating site. Its in a country not the USA and we have about 40,000 singles. We constitute about 40% of the online singles there.

I was wondering what would be a fair price for the site. We get on average 500 people logging in daily.

One of the criteria is we are considering making it a free site and using advertising as a revenue base. Will this impact the site's value.

The value of your site is dependent upon the country and the revenue you make.

Example: There is a subscription fee? Do you make revenue with advertising.

Having 40% of your country's single market is respectable, but most US companies have little to no interest in foreign markets. This fact astounds me. As the US market is now considered by many mature, a prudent online personals or social networking operator should look at other markets for expansion.

Acquisitions will make complete sense. So while your site may not have offers now, eventually you will get them.

You will probably see acquisitions take place from big European based online personals operations buying smaller ones before you see US companies entering the space. A good example is Neu.de, they are making strides into other markets outside of Germany. That is the type of company that would tap you on the shoulder first.
