Vacuum and vacuum heat treatment
The so-called vacuum is a gaseous space with a pressure lower than 101.3kPa (1 atmospheric pressure). The concavity and convexity of the vacuum degree is indicated by the pressure size of the gas space, that is, the higher the vacuum degree, the lower the pressure.
In operation, the vacuum degree of electric furnace is often divided into three levels: low vacuum, pressure is 1.33x103-13.3pa; medium vacuum, pressure is 13.3-1.33x10-2pa; high vacuum, pressure is 1.33x10-2-1.33x10-4pa. Now, most vacuum heat treatment furnaces use vacuum degree of 133-1.33x10-3pa
The so-called vacuum heat treatment means that all or part of the heat treatment process is carried out in vacuum. In practice, vacuum is regarded as a kind of protective gas with high purity, which can effectively avoid the reaction of oxidation and decarburization at high temperature, improve the surface quality of heat treatment or improve the effect of chemical heat treatment.
Now, vacuum heat treatment has been used in quenching, annealing, tempering, carburizing, nitriding, metallizing and other surface hardening, surface alloying and other processes. In terms of quenching, gas quenching, oil quenching, nitrate quenching and water quenching have been completed.
The primary equipment to obtain vacuum is the vacuum pump. Vacuum pumps commonly used in vacuum heat treatment furnace include rotary vane mechanical vacuum pump, slide valve mechanical vacuum pump, mechanical booster pump, oil booster pump and oil dispersion pump. The first three kinds of pumps are mechanical vacuum pumps, and the latter two are oil vapor vacuum pumps.
