hippiePersonals.com goes on the eBay auction block. Also being auctioned are 55 niche dating domain names, including: professionalpersonals.com, progressivesingles.com, democratpersonals.com, greendating.com, wiccandating.com, veggiedating.com and punksingles.com. Auction ends Dec. 4 at 4:05 PM.

You should do well with greendating.com.

I noticed that GreenSingles.com is doing pretty well now. Friends of mine in New York have told me that they use the site. That looks like an excellent niche area to get into with regards to online dating.

Thanks for the feedback. All the 50 + additional dating domains point to hippiePersonals.com. And of those, the one which performs the most referrals is progressivesingles.com. That one ought to do well. Personally, I think Act for Love or Spring Street ought to bid for that domain. (They would also get the .net .org and progressivepersonals .com .net .org and progressivedating .com .net .org.) A lot of activist earthy types don't know of Act for Love or Concerned Singles. Branding is one thing, but simply typing the URL in works, too.

I've had friends in NYC use GreenSingles, as well. I've also had friends in NYC that use, and that I've met, using hippiePersonals--it's a great little site, having morphed from an MSN Group in 2003, to a free private bulletin board and chat, with appx 8k-10k users, to what it is now. I h8 to let it go, but I think my wife is excited that it's on the auction block. Smile
