Interesting find here:
Netflix is actually looking for Social Networking algorithms to improve their business.
The idea is that based on the movies you select from Netflix, they should be able over time to determine which movies you would actually like. Then they would promote those movies to you.
So they need help and offered the Netflix Prize of USD $1 million to the person that comes up with the best algorithm. They also offer $50,000 to those that improve on it. Each year the $50,000 prize is offered.
Here's where social networking takes a quantum leap in the business world.
