We found out today that Eric Holzle (Scientific Match CEO) passed away on August 21.

Obituary: http://obits.masslive.com/obituaries/ma ... =153263701

Quote:
Eric J. Holzle CUMMINGTON - Eric J. Holzle, 47, of 468 West Cummington Rd., Cummington, MA died Sunday, Aug. 21st at his home. Born in New York City, son of Mrs. Barbara Foster with whom he made his home. He was educated at Northeastern Univ. Boston and graduated Babson School. He was an Engineer with the Allied Sintering Co. for 18 years. He leaves besides his mother, one sister Laura Marchal of Telluride, CO. A private funeral took place from the Hobert Funeral Home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Hobert Funeral Home. Tel. 534-4535.

I particularly remember Eric was usually a "front row seater" at iDate. Soft spoken, extremely intelligent and hard working, Eric's presence will be missed by all in the dating industry.

Mark Brooks Interview with him in 2009 on OPW: http://www.onlinepersonalswatch.com/new ... match.html

We were trying to contact Eric and invite him to speak at the next event. Eric usually jumps when we ask and responds quick. We noticed he wasn't replying to emails, his phone was disconnected and his site was down.

We sent out a "911" to the industry earlier today asking if anyone knew if he was OK. In our search, we found the above obituary and cross referenced it with his Linked In profile. Sadly, it was Eric.

I am trying to call his mom to see what charity they want the industry to donate to. So far she hasn't answered. Once I get through to her I will post here.

I want to let you know I have not forgotten this.

Over the last 5 weeks, I have called his mom's house several times. Each time I call, she simply won't answer and the answering machine picks up. I left a message and she did not return the call.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.
