Say wha? Domain Auction?
I announced this summer that iDate 2011 Miami there would be a domain auction for dating domains and social networking domains. Moniker (via
Snapnames) is hosting the auction for us.
Here's how it works:
1) DOMAIN SUBMISSION : If you have dating and social networking domain names to sell via auction, Submit the domains names
HERE
If you do not have a snapnames account and a moniker account, you will have to create one.
You can list your reserve price for the domain.
Please be realistic. Some in the industry have unrealistic values for their domain. If the reserve price is too high, no one will be interested in buying it.
As an idea for value:
Dating.com sold for $1.75 Million USD in 2010
So,
DateMyBestBuddyInLakeTahoe.com will not sell for $50,000.
Please be realistic. Low reserve prices or none may spark interest.
2) Moniker will review the domains and a 'short list' of the top domains will be listed and marketed by both them and us to the industry.
3) PLACING A BID : If you want to place a bid and buy domains in auction,
Snapnames will be the site to watch to Bid or pre-bid for. The date hasn't been set yet, but pre-bidding will probably be made available early January 2011. We can email you in advance (be sure to subscribe to our industry
email list - left side of webpage).
4) Right now, you can
SUBMIT domain names for auction. The iDate20111 Dating and Social Networking Domain Auction will take place online. The final 'last call' date and time for auction bids has not been set, but will most likely be January 20, 2011 at the iDate2011 Conference. Unline 2008, this year we may not have an on-site physical auction at the event. We're looking at it the logistics for it, but the
auction is on and will be online for sure.
Best of luck winning
